The Portuguese Yeast Culture Collection (PYCC) is a biological infrastructure specialized in the study, distribution and ex situ preservation of yeasts. PYCC currently holds aproximately 3000 strains, representing ca. 800 species and 140 genera of ascomycetous and basidiomycetous yeasts and offers biological products and services to the national and international scientific community and other private institutions. The collection is associated to the Centre for Microbial Resources (CREM) and housed in the Department of Life Sciences (DCV) of "Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa" (FCT/UNL, Caparica).
