Research Topics
Systematics of Ascomycetous plant pathogenic fungi, especially with respect to correct diagnoses of diseases.  At present I am concentrating on the Botryosphaeriaceae and the genus Diaporthe/Phomopsis.  In an attempt to organize the data coming from various sources on Botryosphaeria systematics, I have prepared and maintain a website dedicated to this genus.

  • The genus Botryosphaeria in Portugal: species with anamorphs in Diplodia and Dothiorella.  POCTI/AGR/56140/2004 (concluded)

  • The genus Diaporthe and its Phomopsis anamorphs in Portugal; development of morphological, biological and molecular species concepts.  PTDC/AGR-AAM/67064/2006 (Concluded)
