Research Interests

  • Genome and proteome wide-screening of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to study glucose regulation.
  • Sugar (glucose and fructose) transport and metabolism in yeasts
  • Genome wide-screening of Wistar rats heart to study the effect of exposition to low frequency noise

Current Projects

  • In-depth characterization of a derepressed industrial yeast mutant with a unique performance in the fermentation of mixed sugar substrates (Non-funded project). PI: M Salema-Oom
    As participant:
  • Improvement of fructose fermentation by industrial Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains. PTDC/AGR-ALI/112802/2009. PI: Paula Gonçalves
  • Study of the morphofunctional and molecular alterations caused by low frequency noise on the heart of the Wistar rat. (Non-funded project). PI: J. Martins dos Santos
